Hovercraft

Bruce Arnold’s Guitar sound seems to be calling from far away—perhaps beaming the music down from a drone? Singer Judi Silvano’s voice is likewise hushed and whispery, as if half heard from another room. I started to look for video that might approximate what I was hearing in this track, and came across terrific aerial footage of intersections and highways shot from far above, which lent the perfect visual to the sense of hovering implied by Sonic Twist’s® track. In the process, I ended up with a video that demonstrates the visual similarities between the arteries we have built for traffic and the arteries that keep us alive. In “Hovercraft” the micro and macro worlds exist together, as cars and trucks become platelets, and a traffic circle takes the place of a beating heart.
