My work with traditional painting features both flat and heavily textured surfaces using brushes and palette knife for application. I like to see the mark and gesture of the artist’s hand in the work. In this I have been heavily influenced by the work of the painter Thornton Willis, who can make three square feet of red into a feast for the eye. These paintings range in scale from 6’ x 6” to much bigger pieces that would work well in large public spaces.
