Many years ago I saw a gallery show of the work of ceramist Masamichi Tohyama. It inspired me to create my own mosaics, made from recycled supermarket styrofoam trays. In particular i enjoy the smallest pieces, the 6” x 6” – 12” x 12” formats, as they allow great spontaneity, and are delightful worlds in themselves. (Though they are great when shown in a group!)
